Resveratrol Extracts

Resveratrol is actually a phytoalexin which is produced by various plants going through the attacks of pathogens like fungi and bacteria. By considering it’s highly powerful anti aging and anti oxidant properties now-a-days various chemical syntheses are carried out for producing resveratrol and it is vended as “Nutritional Supplement” originated from knotweed (Japanese plant). Resveratrol is generally found in red grapes and is an important ingredient of wine (red).

Resveratrol sources

It is found in environment in its natural form. At first, it was recognized in white hellebore which is a plant of lily family. After that, it was discovered in Japanese plant namely Knotweed. Though, the product became popular among the people after the findings that this plant offers some magical benefits to those who are suffering from any type of heart disease, weight loss problems or even cancer. Seeds and skin of grapes are also found to be an excellent source of resveratrol.

In order to have extracts of resveratrol, the plant is made to undergo through a test so as to make sure that the plant is not infected by some chemicals or other materials. After complete testing, the source of plant is put into larger metal containers known as extractors. The alcohols like methanol and ethanol are put into use for separating the extract of resveratrol from the plant’s fiber. The resulting liquid is processed through a number of other procedures like revelation to elevated pressure. After purification, the extract of resveratrol is vacuum dried to eradicate the alcohol extract.
